Governor Christie is expected to attend incoming Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s inauguration today.

Christie, who is considering running for president, has been making the rounds to inaugurations after aiding in elections as chairman of the Republican Governors Association last year. But this is the only ceremony where he’ll introduce the incoming governor.

Christie also attended inaugurals in South Carolina, Iowa, Florida and Massachusetts. Annapolis is the last stop on his victory lap.

Christie was in Virginia Tuesday to meet with business leaders at an event hosted by Bobbie Kilberg, a top Republican fundraiser who heads the Northern Virginia Technology Council. This morning he was scheduled to meet with Republican lawmakers in Washington, D.C.

In the final weeks leading up to the election, Christie inserted himself – and RGA funds – into the Maryland governor’s race, campaigning with Hogan and attending fundraisers.

Christie has said he put the RGA into debt to send last-minute aid to Hogan, but it was an effort that paid off.

Running on the slogan “Change Maryland,” Hogan beat Democrat Anthony Brown, the outgoing lieutenant governor, 51.6 percent to 46.9 percent.

Christie called Hogan to congratulate him on election night. Hogan later told reporters that Christie was so excited in the Hogan’s upset that he offered to fly down via helicopter.

On election night Christie said in a statement that Hogan would “put his forward-looking vision into action, working tirelessly to enact a common sense, pro-growth agenda that will make Maryland competitive and prosperous again.”

The campaign events in Maryland also gave Christie the opportunity to taunt outgoing Gov. Martin O’Malley, who is also considering running for the Democratic nomination for president.

Christie will attend the private swearing in of Hogan and his running-mate, Lt. Gov.-elect Boyd Rutherford inside the Senate chambers. He will then speak outside the State House, where a heated tent has been erected over the stage in case of inclement weather, before Hogan delivers his inaugural address.
